York Dolls House Show - Sunday 5th June...

Hello everyone!

With only four days to go before the York show I thought I would put my head around  the virtual door and let you know that behind the scenes Mr Bea and I are hard at work getting ready for this very special fair!
 (Above - Seagull Cottage in 1:24th - £99.99)

The Petite Properties’ stand will be packed to the rafters with our smaller scale kits, including our first 144th house kit too!

Alongside our 1:24th and 1:48th kits we will also have a small selection of half scale ready made dolls houses, but as ever as there is only one of each: once they are gone, they are gone!

So if you are planning a visit to the York Show, do stop by the Petite Properties’ stand (on the ground floor) and say hello to Mr Bea, who will be flying solo on the day, as sadly I will not be with him.

In the meantime - Safe travels and Mr Bea will see you all on Sunday!

Not 1... but 3 new kits - now released!

Hello again everyone...
For those of you who know me best, it will come as no surprise that in the run up to the Kensington Dolls House Festival this blog has remained 'post - less' for weeks and then (like buses) two come along in one day!

Anyhoo....I digress!

With the Spring Kensington Dolls House Festival now over and done with for another year, I am delighted to be able to finally announce that the three new kits which were officially launched at the London show last weekend are now available to order via our online shop!

So if your quarter scale dolls house is in need of a versatile 'Lean To' (£9.99) or traditional 'Greenhouse' (£12.99) then look no further, as we have just the kit for you!

Or alternatively if you are a 1:144th fan - we are really excited to announce the launch of our first ever 'Micro size' dolls house kit priced at a recession busting £12.99!!!

Further information regarding all three of these newly launched kits is now available via our website…

and rest assured there are also many other new kits waiting in the wings to be released over the summer months!!

Kensington Dolls House Festival 2011...

Hello everyone!
Just like Dorothy & Toto landing back in Oz... Mr Bea and I are finally back home after our London adventures!

We both had a wonderful time at the Kensington Dolls House Festival and it was fabulous to meet in person so many Beehive members and catch up with our wonderful customers, colleagues and friends over the three day show!

This time around the KDF weekend was a little star studded too...with Helen Bonham Carter, Anneka Rice and Rachel De Thame all spotted at the show!  (Although Mr Bea was somewhat disappointed that Kate Beckingdale did not visit again this year *cough* ...can't think why????)

Sadly I believe that London transport was not particularly kind to visitors and some severe line closures over the weekend did somewhat dampened and delay many visitor's travel plans.

However, despite all the problems with the tube, the show was as fantastic as ever and  Mr Bea and I had our best KDF to date!
So it seems that we have really struck a cord with our new micro range of dolls house kits.  Also our new 48th 'Lean to' and 'Greenhouse Kits' promptly sold out alongside some of our basic house kits too!
(Needless to say Mr Bea is now going to have a VERY busy couple of weeks getting ready for the York show!! lol)

However, for now we have a day of unpacking and 'catching up' ahead of us and for those of you waiting to order our new kits via the online shop; I should have news about that later on today, so as ever - watch this space!

AIM imag - FREE Online Dolls House Magazine!!

May's edition of the AIM Magazine is now available to read online or download - for FREE!!!

Once again it is my pleasure as editor, to be able to proudly welcome you to the May edition of the ‘ground breaking’ AIM magazine.

As a little girl I was always fascinated by castles and would spend many a ‘daydream drenched’ afternoon, trying to imagine just what it would be like to actually live in one.  For me, personally, there is one particular castle ruin, which can be found nestled  in the rolling ‘Purbeck’ hills of Dorset that I have always been illusively drawn to and inspired by.  In short it is my happy place and it seems that I am not alone.

Sadly though, as an adult ‘without the aid of a winning lottery ticket’ that particular residential aspiration still eludes me.  However, as every committed miniaturist knows only too well, the miniature world is not bound by the restrictive financial limitations encountered in our ‘full size’ reality; enabling any day dreamed fantasy to take form and become a tangible reality – albeit in miniature of course!

Castles are by their very nature, drenched in history and saturated with a majestic sense of protection and romance.  It is therefore no surprise that miniaturists all over the world find their captivating architecture a point of inspiration and so, with the onset of May and with spring now in full flow, AIM members have come together to share their fascinating world of castle life.  From the mystical magic of an unseen fantasy world on page 12 to the stunning ‘real life’ castles of Portugal on page 122, this month’s edition of the AIM magazine has all  the inspiration you might need for fortress living!

So if you are planning to realise your very own childhood daydreams and fortified aspirations, settle back with a cuppa and look no further…!
AIM’s miniature world of castle living beckons; and best of all - no winning lottery ticket is required!
