Plastered... but not in a good way!

Hello everyone!
This is a bit off topic for this blog, but I just wanted to let you all know that following an evening spent in A&E on Thursday I am now plastered up to the knee...

The last few days have been a bit of a painful blur, filled with gas & air, x rays and a trip to the fracture clinic... the long and the short of it is that I have (somewhat stupidly) managed to damage some ligaments in my ankle and have a possible underlying fracture too :(

I have now been confined to bed for a few days and then will be on crutches for at least the next 10 days... needless to say this has sent me into a bit of a tail spin as the Thame and  Miniatura shows are both looming large on the horizon and my ‘to do’ list is shouting profanities at me for neglecting it so...

Anyhoo I just wanted to let you all know that despite needing a few days out I am certainly not going to let a little bit of plaster get in the way and (hopefully) if I can't get to the PP office, then Mr Bea is going to help the PP office get to me! ;)
Who knows…working from bed might be quite fun!!!??
;0)

Back from the 'Big Smoke'...

*Delayed Post from Thursday 31st January...

Hello everyone!
We are finally back in the PP office after an extended trip to London!

The new 'Tower Of London Dolls House Festival' was FABULOUS - Mr Bea and I couldn't believe the number of visitors that flooded through the doors, which meant that we were kept busy almost right to the show's close!

By the end of a frantically busy Sunday Mr Bea and I were both pretty much asleep on our feet, but luckily we had booked to stay a couple of nights in a hotel only a minute's drive from the venue - so at least we didn't have to go far, let alone attempt to battle a weary path out of London…

Monday saw a spot of sightseeing and Mr Bea and I had a wonderful time ambling around and taking in the sights... We saw The Tower Of London, Tower Bridge, The Shard, St Paul's Cathedral and the Museum Of London - the latter was fantastic as it featured many scale models of London's architecture through the ages (I could have spent all day staring at them! LOL...)

Finally, we finished what had been a perfect (& much needed) 'day off' with pre dinner drinks watching the sun go down on Tower Bridge and The Tower Of London and then Mr Bea whisked me off for a romantic supper in one of my favourite restaurants - the diet took quite a hammering, but what the hell - happy days!  LOL
Tuesday morning we (reluctantly) waved good bye to London and headed home - still exhausted, but very, very happy!  Now we are back in the office, trying to catch up on all that we have missed, process orders and updating both the website and online shop updated with all of the brand new kits which we launched at the show on Sunday... at this rate it may only be Thursday, but to be honest we could already do with another day off!! *sigh!

A new year, a new calendar and lots to celebrate..!

Good afternoon everyone!!

Firstly I would like to wish you ALL a belated 'Happy New Year!' and I hope that you all had a magical and very 'merry' Christmas!!

Mr Bea and I had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas which following a VERY busy ‘autumn season’ was spent quietly with our family…

However before Big Ben chimed in the New Year, 2012 had one last fabulous surprise celebration for us, when on Christmas Eve our youngest daughter became engaged!!  (*happy noises!)

However now, as the season of baubles and feasting gently ebbs away, 2013’s quiet start and sedate pace is not likely to last for very much longer, as our first ‘Dolls House & Miniatures’ show of the year at ‘Stafford’ is now little more than a week away and will be followed quickly by a brand new prestigious miniature show, to be held at the Tower Hotel, London at the end of the month!!!  2013 also sees our Petite Properties show schedule (yet again) expand and this year we are excited to also be attending the ‘1 zu 12’ show in Soest, Germany!  For a full and updated show schedule please see our website –

For Mr Bea and I, 2013 is also going to be very special year as our business, 'Petite Properties' - will be celebrating its 10th birthday (!!)  and we plan to mark our ‘first decade’ in the miniature world with a '12 month' flurry of competitions, promotions, generously sprinkled with the release of some very special new smaller scale products... all making for a very busy, hectic and celebratory year!

But despite a busy show schedule and Petite Properties’ 10th birthday celebrations, a cursory glance at my shiny new calendar also tells me that 2013 will not just be all about our work within the ‘miniature world’…   Mr Bea and I are also looking forward to the imminent birth of our 2nd grandchild, a ‘summer time’ engagement party, a very special family wedding, a christening and then finally, towards the end of the year - our silver wedding anniversary celebrations too!… it certainly looks like 2013 is going to be a year to remember!!

But before 2013 inevitably sweeps us all into its 'busy' clutches and the lights of Christmas fade for another year, may I once again wish you ALL a very happy New Year… and here’s hoping that 2013 will be filled with health, happiness and contentment, all knitted together with copious amounts of laughter, punctuated only by the sound of popping corks!

Happy New Year!!!

NEW Kits For Autumn Miniatura!!!

Dandelion Cottage (1:24th)
Hello everyone!

I am sorry for having been so 'absent' and (uncharacteristically) quiet of late!
After a summer of travelling Mr Bea and I have collectively had our noses pressed securely up against the PP grindstone, working on the 40+ brand new smaller scale kits which we will be launching at the
Miniatura show this weekend.
(Notoriously) 'To the wire' as ever, we finally crawled over the finish line late yesterday afternoon and now just have to pack up the van before we head west to the NEC and 'attempt' to fit it all onto a 12ft stand *gulp
This weekend Mr Bea and I will be on stand D3, so if you do get a chance to say hello - please do!!  In addition to our full range of smaller scale kits we will also have a large number of fully constructed 1:24th dolls houses, all of which will be sold on a ‘first come, first serve basis’ - so once they are gone, they are gone!
Blackberry Farm (1:48th Kit)
We will have our eldest daughter and SIL helping us this weekend and we are really looking forward to (hopefully) a very busy weekend! Safe travels everyone and see you there!
PS all the new kits will be added to the PP online shop on Tuesday 25th September, so if you are unable to go to Miniatura, you won't miss out! =0)

Counting down to Autumn…!

I am ashamed to say that it has been a very long time since I last updated this blog, but  despite my ‘online absence’ Tony and I have filled our (mostly) ‘sunless’ summer days with furtive design and development; working together to prepare a record number of new kits which we will launch during the coming Autumn show season.
As a result from September to December we have lined up seven fantastic shows: Miniatura, Alexandra Palace, Arnhem, Leeds, The Midlands DH Fair, Kensington and York and we will be launching new smaller scale products at EVERY show!
But for now there is only one thought on our collective minds - Autumn Miniatura - where, on the 22nd & 23rd September, the Petite Properties' stand will feature a record number of affordable new kits in 1:24th, 1:48th and 1:144th; from shabby chic furniture, to traditional garden accessories - we will have something to tempt every smaller scale enthusiast and suit every pocket size!

We are also delighted to be launching a new '360 Premier Collection' of 1:48th dolls house kits.  'Blackberry Farm' will be the first quarter scale 'Petite Property' to be released in this collection, with many, many more to follow!

Not going to the Miniatura Show? No problem!
On the 25th September all of our 40+ brand new kits will be added to the Petite Properties' online shop and will be available via mail order to anywhere in the world!

Over the coming weeks as Autumn Miniatura grows larger on the horizon, I will be previewing all of our new smaller scale kits alongside our (now famous) ‘ready made’ dolls houses in our 1:24th Country Town Collection…  So as the leaves begin to turn and the summer warmth starts to fade (*cough) there’s lots to look forward to as a busy Autumn ‘miniature’ season approaches!
